It faithfully reproduces Lautrec’s 1892 poster commissioned by Arthur Huc, Director of La Dépêche de Toulouse, to promote the first installment of A. Siegel’s serialized romance Dramas of Toulouse in the April 16th, 1892 edition. The design features a vivid green background with bold black line work, exemplifying Lautrec’s ability to distill a scene into pure graphic impact. As with all works in this prestigious portfolio, it was meticulously crafted “above the edition” to capture the tonal richness and compositional strength of the original lithographic stone.
