This enigmatic piece was commissioned by Magritte’s close friend and legal advisor Harry Torczyner’s New York apartment. The Second: L'Homme au Chapeau Melon (1964) is an image of one of Magritte’s signature bowler hat men whose face is entirely covered by a white peace dove, besides his left ear.
